Montmartre is known as one of the places in Paris that has dedicated herself to the arts. The Moulin Rouge can be found here and some of the world’s famous artists used to have a studio in one of the busy streets in Montmartre. In keeping with the idea and tradition of artistry in this district, the district was fortunately chosen to house the works of one of the most famous artists of Spain, Salvatore Dali. This structure is just five minutes by walk from the town’s landmark, the Sacré Coeur basilica. Properly known as the L’Espace Salvador Dali, you’ll have a great artistic experience once you get inside of the room.

The museum displays the work of only one man, Salvatore Dali. The artist has so many works and they don’t just stick to a specific thought. Dali was born an impressionist but was later drawn to the idea of cubism. In the end, he would resign himself to surrealism. This gave way to create more than the standard norms of creativity. He removed all the inhibitions and slowly created something beautiful all the time. The result – a fame he never imagined that will happen in his lifetime. He was not just someone who paints something, he is someone who almost represented every form of art and he beautifully does them.

But why should a Spanish artist end up building a museum in French soil? The foundation that handles almost all of the known works of Dali has been touring around the world. After completing the tour, they decided that the works that were used on display has to be permanently placed in one place alone. Since a Dali Museum is already in Spain, the foundation decided to build another museum in France and the most obvious chose as of course Paris. And for an artist, there is no other way of getting close to art in Paris other than building the museum in Montmartre. Thus in 1991, the Dali Museum in France was opened to the public.

Once you stepped inside the museum, you’ll be able to see not just a couple of arts but you’ll be appreciating more than 300 works of art. As indicated, these works of art used to tour around the world but now it has permanently found a home in Montmartre. There are guided tours or you can just go ahead and look around. There are commentaries in almost all of the works of art; you’ll be able to understand how he lived and what he did in that point of time. Even the people that are not familiar with the artist will appreciate the museum with its extensive information about the artist. When you go out, you’ll be able to understand his way of life, his ideals and ultimately inspiration on why did he made these works of art.

If you’ve become a fan of this artist after just a while, you’ll find a gift shop conveniently located in this place. Grad a poster of the artist or an life like replica of some of his best works.
